The Atlanta Falcons Captain in the community winner is Tyler Teknipp, a quarterback/safety/punter at Eagle’s Landing High School in McDonough, GA.

When his Head Coach was asked, “What makes Tyler a good leader and why is giving back to the community important?” he responded, “Tyler is and has been a leader no matter the situation. We have had 2 extremely tough years on the football field but he has never let it affect his personality or work ethic. He continues to encourage and push his team mates to be there best. While the football stuff is great the best is to observe Tyler working with our Special needs students. Tyler truly makes them feel like they are the most important person every day.”

The Captain in the Community program recognizes outstanding high school football student-athletes around the state of Georgia that demonstrate strong leadership skills both on-and-off the field. Winners are selected by USA Football, the Official Youth Football Development Partner of the NFL.
