Atlanta Falcons Announce Winner of the 2011 NFL High School Coach of the Week presented by Russell Athletic for the Week of September 5
The Atlanta Falcons are pleased to announce the winner of the 2011 NFL High School Coach of the Week presented by Russell Athletic for the Week of September 5.
Keith Maloof of Norcross High School located in Norcross, Ga. has been selected as this week’s NFL High School Coach of the Week presented by Russell Athletic. This past Friday night, Norcross High School defeated Parkview High School, 42 – 14. With the victory, Norcross has started the season 2 – 0.
Mike Emery, Director of Athletics, Student Activities & Community Schools of Gwinnett County Public Schools said, “For the past 12 years, Keith Maloof has been a pillar of stability at Norcross High School. Over those years he has won over 100 games. That accomplishment is dwarfed by the impact he has had on the lives of young people. I have been fortunate to see that instilling integrity in the future of our community, by molding young players into men, is Keith’s top priority.”
Coach Maloof serves as a father figure for many of his players. He consistently provides them with leadership and support to make them better men off the field. This past year, he also developed a mentor program with the Norcross youth football program for his athletes to serve as role models.
Each week of the season, the winner of this award will receive a plaque signed by Falcons Head Coach Mike Smith and a $1,000 grant from the NFL’s Youth Football Fund to his school’s athletic department. The coaching staff will also receive Coach of the Week sweatsuits along with Coach of the Week t-shirts for members of the football team.
